Starting Wednesday, March 5th
PPS and the PTOs are partnering with
The Princeton Police Department (PPD)
The Greater Mercer Transportation Management Association (GMTMA)
Sustainable Princeton & others to launch
"Walk & Wheel Wednesdays"
to encourage students to walk or ride their bike, scooter, etc. or
ride the bus to school every Wednesday this Spring.
The effort is to help build awareness of safe routes while encouraging community connections with families.
|
Please note:
- Part of the fun is planning this with friends/neighbors and walking together. We encourage families to plan their route with other families and enjoy an early morning trek to school.
- Young children should be accompanied by an adult as they would for any drop off.
- If participating by bike/scooter, students must wear helmets and know how to ride.
- W&W will take place every Wednesday, rain or shine, but not in cases of snow or ice. PPS will send out an alert to all families if the event is cancelled.
- There will be an increased presence and enforcement of traffic laws in school areas on or around Wednesdays.
